Other foundries can be unspeakably cruel to their fonts when creating stencil variants. They cut up innocent letterforms, mercilessly slicing stems and curves until the characters are reduced to fragments of their former selves. We at CakeType prefer to take the organic approach. Cake Sans came to life as a stencil design. It was then nurtured, patiently and lovingly. The letter parts grew at their own pace until they fused together to become Cake Sans. However, the original Cake Stencil was also carefully preserved in our typographic greenhouse until it was ripe for general use. The type family includes a rough Applied variant. Cake Stencil comes in six styles and supports Latin Extended including Vietnamese, and Cyrillic. See the PDF specimen for the complete character set and OpenType feature overviews.
