CakeType EULA
version 1.1 — June 2023
By purchasing, downloading, installing, using, or otherwise handling CakeType fonts, you automatically accepts the terms of this agreement and acknowledges that:
(1) This license is non-exclusive, non-assignable and non-transferable, which grants you certain rights to use the fonts (see “Please do” below).
(2) Except for your right to use the fonts granted by this license, all other rights are owned and retained by CakeType.
(3) The intellectual property of the design contained in the fonts is owned by CakeType.
(4) CakeType’s warranty is strictly limited to the replacement of the purchased fonts in case it does not perform substantially in accordance with the specifications published on the website. More info about this you will find in the return policy section on this page. The warranty does not apply to any fonts converted, manipulated or modified by the user.
(5) CakeType is not liable for any loss or damages caused by the use of purchased fonts, including lost profits, lost data, lost business opportunities, or lost savings.
(6) The fonts and all of their copies are protected by the Copyright Act of The Netherlands.
(7) This EULA, and any dispute arising out of or in connection with this EULA, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of The Netherlands.

(1) The license grants you the right to: install fonts locally for the amount of users mentioned in your license within a single company/organisation, not necessarily on the same geographical location, self-host fonts for the amount of domains and unique visitors mentioned in your license, and embed fonts in an app or e-book for the amount mentioned in your license.
(2) The license is perpetual and does not require subscription. If you outgrow your current license, you can upgrade by buying the same license again to double the amount of users, domains and apps/ebooks, or by buying a larger license.
(3) You may provide a copy of the OTF and TTF fonts to your printer or preprint facility, in the scope of a defined project, only in order to prepare for printing and print your documents.
(4) You may provide a copy of the WOFF2 fonts to a web developer, in the scope of a defined project, only in order to implement the fonts into the website.
(5) You may provide a copy of the TTF fonts to a developer, in the scope of a defined project, only in order to embed the fonts in an app or e-book.
(6) You are allowed to design logos using one of our typefaces, except the typeface(s) you only purchased a trial license for.

(1) You are not authorized to redistribute, sublicense, sell, lend, lease purchased fonts to any 3rd parties, except for cases mentioned in “Please do – section 3, 4 and 5”.
(2) You are not alowed to serve remote access to your purchased fonts via company servers or cloud solutions unless you purchased a server-use license extension. Please get in touch for more information.
(3) You must not upload the fonts to any public server or public GIT repository available to users outside your organisation or entity.
(4) You must not modify, rename or convert the original font file under any circumstance.
(5) You are not allowed to use the original fonts file to create a derivative or modified product or design, including creating characters for alphabets and languages not covered by the typeface or designing a custom version of the typeface.
(6) You are not allowed to use the fonts for user-generated content.
License addendum for trial fonts

This is an add-on to the agreement above. All terms of the CakeType EULA shall remain in force unless modified by this agreement. The following amendments and alterations to the EULA apply. By downloading and installing CakeType trial fonts you agree to the following conditions:
(1) You are allowed to use the trial fonts for testing and trial purposes only, which may include paid and unpaid pitches. You are not allowed to use the fonts in any files that are destined for final delivery for any project, regardless whether these projects are for commercial or non-commercial purposes.
(2) If you are actively enrolled as a student at an accredited learning institution, then use of the trial fonts in final files is permitted as long as the nature of usage is of strictly non-commercial and educational nature.
(3) You can use the trial fonts for personal project, as long as CakeType and the name of the typeface are mentioned.
(4) If you wish to use the trial fonts for any other purposes, you have to purchase a license for the full version.
